Ask for a screen. See exactly what changed.
To show you the new Mapples Assistant, we opened a copy of the Echo template and asked for one more screen:
"Add a Downloads screen to this podcast app, with sample content only and no logic: a header with a back button and the title Downloads, a storage bar showing 2.4 GB of 64 GB used, and a list of six downloaded episodes with artwork, title, show name and size. Reuse the look of the existing screens, and open it from the Storage used row on Library."
The screen appeared on the canvas with the template's own header, card and artwork, and the Storage used row now opens it.
The Downloads screen the assistant built, running in Play.
It explains what it did
The reply lists what was built and which existing parts were reused. The assistant also captured the screen to check its own work, and it suggested two small follow-ups that took one more message.
The request and the assistant's reply.
Every step is on the record
Each thing the assistant does appears as a step under the turn, such as creating a page, inserting a component or wiring an interaction. Changes land on the canvas as normal edits, and Revert this turn undoes the whole turn at once.
The new screen sits on the canvas beside the rest of the app.
Also new
- Plans you can run. For a new project, accept the plan and go step by step, or choose Accept & auto to have each step complete when its turn ends.
- Saved components. The assistant creates and reuses components while it builds.
- Your choice of effort. Pick the model and effort for each turn.
- A budget you can see. A ring beside the pickers shows how much of your AI budget is left.
- A steady canvas. The canvas goes read-only while the assistant works, so you and the assistant never edit the same thing at once.
The assistant is in beta and comes to Mapples Creator with the 2.0 release.
